Dr. AMIT KUMAR, Ph.D

Dr. Amit Kumar is an Environmentalist cum Hydrologist and has worked on wide areas such as sources, fate and transport of carbon in water and soil,  greenhouse gas emission from Hydropower reservoirs/ Lakes/ Forest, water quality and ecological health assessment, etc. After obtaining his two Bachelor degree in Zoology and Agriculture as well, after that he joined M.Tech in “Environmental Management of Rivers and Lakes” from one of the top technical University in India called IIT Roorkee, further he is lucky enough to get his Ph.D and worked on “Greenhouse gas emissions from Hydropower reservoirs and its catchments” from the same Institution under the umbrella of MHRD fellowship, India. Further, he completed postdoc research with the College of Hydrology and Water Resources,  Hohai University, Nanjing, China. Since then, he is working at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST), Nanjing, China in the School of Hydrology and Water Resource as an Associate Professor and working with the Eco-Hydrology group. He has published more than 40 research papers (>16 SCI with 1st author) in peer-reviewed journals of international repute. Besides this, he has also contributed one book chapters. He has participated in several national and international conferences/training in India and abroad. He has received various prestigious fellowships such as DAAD, MOST (Taiwan, 2 times), World Bank, ETH, CAS, etc. during his international training/conferences. He is life member of the International Association of Engineers, International Association of Hydrological Sciences, Athens Institute for Education and Research, Greece, and International Association for Ecology. Besides, he is an Associate Editor in the Current World Environment and reviewer of various international journals (e.g., Science of the Total Environment, Renewable & Sustainable Energy Review, Env. Science and Pollution Research, Journal of Cleaner Production, etc.).
